Session I lessons will be Saturday mornings, starting May 24th. Classes will meet May 24, 31, June 7th and June 14th.
Session II lessons will be weekday mornings, June 9th through June 13th, so there’s an extra 5th class with this session.
Session III Lessons will be Saturday mornings again, beginning July 12th. Classes will be July 12, 19, 26, and Aug. 2nd.
All classes will be scheduled as follows:
8:15-9:00 AM Teen and Adult classes, 12 and older (I know, 12 year olds are not yet teens!)
9:00-9:45 AM 6-11 year olds who can hold breath underwater for 10 seconds.
9:45-10:30AM 4-6 year olds who can participate independently of parents
10:30-11:00 AM 2-4 year olds with one adult participating with each child
The instructor may ask parents to bring their child to a different time slot/class after first day assessments, based on their swimming ability and comfort in the water.
The skills being taught are basic water safety, gliding, floating, bobbing, treading water; proper front crawl breathing, kicking, and arm stroke skills; as the class skills advance, additional strokes and skills may be taught. Children may be asked to advance to the next class as their skills progress.
